YW's Fundraiser

This year for the YW's fundraiser we really went all out. After the somewhat sad bake sale last year it was decided we had to step it up. What followed was a once in a lifetime fundraising event. It was A LOT OF WORK and I am so glad I had quit my job. We raised a little money but the most important thing was that the girls had a blast and learned a ton (so did the leaders). Danny and I worked on the center pieces which consisted of gathering donated lemons tree branches, lemons and glass vases, spray painting the lemon branches gold, and arranging them in the vases. We also spent over 3 hours cooking mushrooms, onions, and spinach. It's a good thing I had Danny to help!!

The room looked super awesome with the lights dimmed

The fundraiser was A Night Under the Stars Dinner with a little dance number for entertainment. The night began with a cocktail and appetizer hour followed by a dinner of chicken, mushroom, and spinach crepes served with mixed vegetables, and a lemon risotto. We had vanilla sponge cake with raspberry puree and vanilla compote for dessert. The food was seriously amazing but was a ton of work. We all learned a lot about professional food preparation and presentation from our catering friend but I don't think we will ever do it again. All in all everyone had a great evening and that's all that matters!
