Stanford Theater

One of the greatest things about living in Palo Alto is the Stanford Theater. Seriously, it is awesome. It's like taking a magical ride in a time machine. Behold the awesomeness...

We went for a Hitchcock Festival (North by Northwest and Strangers on a Train). It was really fun. The theater is beautifully restored. I love all the vintage movie posters, original tile, red velvet curtains, organist, balcony, and cheap movie treats!

 Balcony

I was excited to see this Gone with the Wind poster because I just finished the book

Why I think working at Google would be awesome...

...you get one of these sweet rides to get you to your meetings across campus and to lunch off campus. I love the basket in the front for your laptop. Even better is when I see biker gangs in suits riding to meetings.

Food Trucks - Weeks 2 & 3

I'm addicted to the food trucks that come to Palo Alto every Monday night. It is the highlight of my week.

Week 2

We ate:
The Shack - Mac & Cheese = 5 stars
Little Green Cyclo - Shaki Beef with Tomato Rice = 3 stars
Little Green Cyclo - Sweet Potato Tatter Tots with Plum Sauce = 5 stars

This time I remembered to grab a blanket to sit on

Week 3

We ate:
An the Go - Garlic Noodles with Beef Skewer and Veggies = 4 stars (noodles great, skewer not)
Chairman Bao's - Baked Braised Pork Bun = 5 stars
Butterscotch to Go - Butterscotch Pudding = 5 stars
Butterscotch to Go - Chocolate Ganache Cookies = 3 stars

This time Danny had to work late so I went and picked up the food and we ate at his work. Never again. It is definitely a two person job to get food from multiple trucks.

The Ritz at Half Moon Bay & San Fran

All the moms in our area go to the beach at The Ritz. Our schedules finally aligned and I went with my friend, Kathryn, and her kids to the beach. It ended up being a really cold day and no one else showed up. It is a really beautiful beach. Next time I'll make sure to bring a sweatshirt.

The Ritz

Danny was able to get off work a little early that evening so we headed up to SF for dinner. We went to La Taqueria in the mission district and it was good! After we hit up an ice cream place, Bi-Rite, that has amazing and weird ice cream. We tried the brown sugar, salted caramel, and snicker-doodle cookie dough. All were really good but surprisingly I think brown sugar was my favorite. We ended the night with Captain America. I didn't really want to see it but I really really liked it.

Beau's BBQ

The weekend before we went rafting we went to a BBQ at our friend's, Beau's, place. We haven't really left our apartment the past year so it was really nice to get out. It was a cold day in Palo Alto and typically it's cold and foggy on the coast so I didn't bother to take my camera with me. When we got to Beau's the weather was beautiful and I was so angry I left my camera at home. Below are some pictures our friend, Jordan, took with her camera. It was a great BBQ!
