Everything you want (and don't want) to know about our life lately...

  • On Monday my work had layoffs. All my friends got cut. Work just got soooo boring.
  • On Tuesday Danny's work had layoffs. Luckily we made it through the first rounds.
  • I was reading "The Mother in Me" for book club but I had to stop because after the first couple short stories it was making me think all mormon mothers are lunatics and I don't believe that to be true in real life.
  • Its been in the mid 70's here and beautiful blue skies but I haven't been able to see any of the nice weather because I've been working like crazy including this weekend. :0( At least I have a job though right?
  • 85% of the food I eat is organic. And this isn't by choice. All the food at work is organic and most of the food at costco is organic. And I'm not gonna lie...it's not the tastiest food.
  • We went to this awesome place last night, Santana Row, which is like The District in Las Vegas but way bigger. But we only spend 45 mins there after driving 20 and spending another 15 looking for parking. It is a place to go with friends and spend lots of money.
  • Last week Sun Beams was a little interesting. Where are they getting these lessons? I'm Thankful for Plants? The lesson was seriously like 2 mins long. And even though I brought a bunch of new toys they were only entertained with those for another 5 mins. Any ideas? Normally this our routine...5-10 mins outside. 10 mins snack. 10 mins lesson (sometimes this is during snack). 10 mins coloring or other activity. Unfortunately the kiddies are not lasting for 10 min intervals anymore. We've resorted to teaching them to play duck duck goose which they love but isn't very church related (although they are good about playing it reverently).
  • The warm weather means our apartment is 85 degrees again. Yuck! Don't tell me "you don't need A/C in Palo Alto".
  • House Hunters International is my new fav show. Did any one catch this episode? I want a house there!
  • I have to admit... although I do love Chelsie and Ty on Dancing with the Stars and hope they win and I vote for them every week (both phone and internet)....2 of my internet votes go to Woz. What charisma! I want to be friends with him. Love him!
  • Danny and I need to get over our stigma that our apartment is too small to have people over. We have no friends because of it.
  • I need to work out. Any ideas for motivation? Any one have a good routine?
  • I need something new for my front door. I'm sick of the wreath we've had up for 2 years. Any ideas?
  • We have some really pretty trees outside our apartment.
  • I'm obsessed with this model home that Danny's parents found in Palo Alto. Don't worry...only $999,000. A steal! haha. But seriously, I want the decorator to do my apartment. I love it!
  • We baby sat my cousin's kids 2 Saturdays ago (Emma-5 1/2 and Bryce- 3?). They are the funniest kids. We had a great time with them. We were driving in the car and this was our conversation....
    • Liz- "Emma do you know his name?" (pointing to Danny)
    • Emma- "Yes. That's Danny!" (Emma giggles) "Do you want to know something."
    • Liz -"Yes"
    • Emma- "Whenever I think of the name Danny I think of a Dinosaur." (everyone laughs)
    • Liz -"Should we call Danny, Danny the Dinosaur?"
    • Emma laughing "Lets call him Danny the Boo Boo Dinosaur."
    • Liz laughing "What kind of Dinosaur is he?"
    • Bryce- "A T-Rex"
    • Emma - "No a Terradactyl"
    • Bryce - "But without wings"
    • Emma - "He's a mouse."
And that is how Danny became Danny the Boo Boo Dinosaur (the mouse).

Ryan and I taught sunbeams last year... they are fun :-) My sister teaches them now. I have 2 recommendations. 1) a fishing pole. Don't ask me why but every 3 year old LOVES it when you put a paper clip on something and then attach a magnet to a string on a pole. If you let them they will fish the entire time!
2)sugardoodle.net They have tons of great ideas for every lesson.

As for working out... obviously I'm no pro but I did hear that if you find a book on CD that you really love and tell yourself that you can only listen to it when working out that it is a great motivation. Twilight! I was anti until I read them... stupid addictive books :-)

Working out... i walk and read on the treadmill/elliptical... keeps my mind off of what im doing! Pilates videos are fun. Wall pushups, along with chair pushups can be done while watching TV. lunges too. i love the pilates ball exercises. And this is really good to do everyday http://www.abc-of-yoga.com/yogapractice/sunsalutation.asp.

Haha- I love this post. And I am so not creative so I have no ideas for what to do with your front door. Luckily my front door has a glass window thing and so I can't put a wreath on it and I never worry about it.
I'm so jealous the weather is nice there- I woke up to SNOW today. How lame is that. Maybe Aaron and I should move to Palo Alto too- oh wait, we're too poor.
Ps- i'm so sorry you had a Phonex nightmare. That could possibly be the worst thing EVER!!! Watch out for phone jacks.
As far as working out goes, I pretty much don't like doing it. But I am forced to when I sign up for a triathlon. That way I have motivation not to die or pass out and have people trample my body. You should sign up and come down to St. George and do one with me!!!
Come visit soon :)

I tried the fishing activity and you were right. They loved it! And I do love sugardoodle. Although, sometimes I feel like their ideas invovle lots of time or money or access to craft supplies I don't have. But I still check it everyweek and get most of my ideas there. Lots of creative people!
