Danny and I have lived in Palo Alto for 3 years and have never been to the beach to do beachy things. Two weeks ago summer finally arrived and Carly and I decided to make a beach trip to Santa Cruz. It was fabulous. I can't believe I didn't come sooner.
While we were there two families, totaling 12 people, somehow ended up having a picnic in a cove that was not a beach. When the tide came in they were washed to sea. Three lifeguards, a seadoo, a really long ladder, and 2 fireman later the families made it out alright. It was strange because the families consisted mostly of people who couldn't swim (really old grandmas and lots of small children) so we couldn't figure out how they ended up in the cove (below).
We ended the day with some yummy tacos. It was a great day. Next time I'll use sunscreen that isn't expired. Ouch!
